CaptionBox for Wordpress
If your website is powered by Wordpress, you can use this easy-to-install plugin to enable CaptionBox for your videos and audios. Simply place your SpeakerText transcripts in a folder on your web server, and the plugin will load them under the matching videos. No need to edit previous blog entries! Once the CaptionBox plugin is installed, Google will be able to index your transcripts which will drive traffic to your content.
Requirements
- PHP 5 or newer
- Wordpress 2.7 or newer
- FTP access to your webserver
Installation Instructions
Step One: Install the plugin
Go to your Wordpress dashboard, and click on "Plugins" in the sidebar. Click on "Add New" in the sidebar. You can either search for the plugin from your own site or upload a zip file that you download from wordpress.org. Enter the username and password to your web server when prompted by Wordpress.
Step Two: Place SpeakerText HTML transcripts on your server
Wordpress has funny auto-formatting rules for post content, so you can't just copy transcripts into the post body. Instead, download the HTML format of each SpeakerText transcript from the SpeakerText website, and place them all in a folder on your server.
Step Three: Tell CaptionBox where your transcripts are
In the CaptionBox settings page (accessible from your Wordpress admin console), type in the full path to the folder where you put your transcripts.
Troubleshooting:
Check the CaptionBox documentation, especially the section on platform-specific notes.
